Principal for the Day

On May 25, 2nd-grade student May Bibee served as Principal for the Day. Principal Bibee spent the day with Mrs. White exploring the role of the principal.

As principal for the day May had the opportunity to:

  • send a call-out to the entire school community

  • make or change a rule (no uniform for the day)

  • conduct morning and afternoon announcements

  • talk to students about their noise levels in the hall

  • monitor 8th-grade pictures

  • speak to the SRO about securing the building

  • meet with the School Counselor and Instructional Coaches to discuss social-emotional learning and 2nd-grade curriculum

  • observed classes and write notes to teachers

  • read to 1st-grade students

  • and learn about some aspects of school finance.

She even found time to have lunch and give out treats to 2nd-grade classes. Mrs. White was truly impressed by this future leader. May was confident and had a take-charge attitude. She aspires to be President of the United States one day. We believe she can do it!

Residency Verification

Registration and re-enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year is upon us. Because we are a magnet school, there are yearly residency verification requirements that our Board of Trustees has mandated. This year all new AND returning magnet students must provide residency documentation by June 30, 2021.

Residency paperwork went home with your student May 12, 2021. The school has onsite notary services, please call in advance to ensure availability.

If you have questions, please contact Angenita Watson at 843-724-7750.
