12 Days of Holiday Cheer!

The Buist Foundation and school administration are creating "12 Days of Holiday Cheer" for our faculty and staff members. If you would like to help, please consider donating any of the items listed in the sign up below. On December 17, the Buist Foundation will provide lunch from Jason's Deli for the teachers. If you would like to help offset the cost and make a $10 donation, please send a check in an envelope labeled "Front Office- 12 Days of cheer" or

Venmo @Buist-Foundation. Gift cards for the holiday bingo and sweet treats may also be dropped during carpool. We ask that items be donated by December 16. We are so grateful for our teachers and parents and appreciate all your continued support!

COVID-19 Notification

Buist Academy and Charleston County School District are committed to prioritizing the health and safety of students and employees. In all instances, we will follow the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control’s (DHEC) guidance for schools on COVID-19.

When appropriate, we will provide all pertinent information that can be shared in order to inform parents, but we must also protect the individual’s confidential information by not providing names, grade-levels, or any identifying information about a student or staff member.

Positive case information can be found on the CCSD COVID-19 Dashboard. A link to the Dashboard/COVID-19 updates is located on the Buist Academy website. The information included on the Dashboard applies to anyone associated with the school to include students, faculty, and staff (administration, instructional, custodial, food/nutrition).

Buist Academy has had a total of four positive cases and several close contacts. Only people directly impacted (close contacts) are notified by Nursing Services. We have not had an overwhelming number of positive cases at Buist Academy. However, we do ask that each family consider the health and safety of our school community by taking health and safety precautions seriously at home and in the community.

For more information, please click the links below. Visit the CCSD COVID-19 website and dashboard frequently for updates.

Please do not park in the carpool lane during morning arrival or afternoon dismissal. This area is reserved for the safe unloading and loading of our students.

All car riders should use Anson Street for arrival and dismissal. Bus and bike riders should use Calhoun Street (Dogwood Alley).

Students not in class by 8:00 a.m. are marked tardy.

For the safety of our students and staff please yield to students entering and exiting their vehicle opposite of the curb during carpool. We ask that drivers please remain in your vehicle and allow staff on duty to assist your student as a courtesy to others.

If your student needs help with car seats and seat belts, after loading, please drive all the way up to assist them. We encourage you to teach students to independently perform these tasks.
