I am excited to be returning to Buist as the Assistant Principal for the 24-25 School Year! I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to support and lead a school community that poured into me immeasurably as a classroom teacher. As we navigate this school year together, cherish the adventures we will embark upon, be present and understanding, while knowing support is always here for our Buist families and community. Thank you and I look forward to working closely with all of our stakeholders in making this a wonderful school year!
CCSD does have an Official Charleston County School District Parent Facebook page. However, that page is not monitored by the school. Questions or concerns expressed on that page will be addressed through third-party contact. This will delay response times. If you have a question or concern, please feel free to email the appropriate person at the school level.
Please see my response to a recent post regarding communication:
Each school has a website manager who updates its site. This person is usually off during the summer and resumes the role in August. The staff directory will be updated after August 6. This is to ensure that all new hires and changes are included. Changes can occur anytime before or after school begins. Ms. Looney decided when to share the news of her retirement. It was shared in a thoughtful post that she wrote to the school community. A Knightly Newsletter is scheduled to go out this week to include the new assistant principal's information. Mr. Marvin Conyers's first official day was July 15. Please email Shawntay_White@charelston.k12.sc.us if you have specific questions.
Teacher listings are included in the Buist Family Handbook each year and provided to families before the first day of school. Please check the archives for past editions of the Knightly News.
Thank you,
Shawntay White
