We are extremely proud to reward and celebrate positive behaviors. Students have done an amazing job exhibiting the RITE stuff during the 2nd quarter of the school year.
All students who received positive behavior referrals were entered into a drawing for special recognition.

There were also drawings for two $200 Target gift cards. This drawing was for students with no office referrals & no more than 1 teacher- managed minor infraction.

Kids Heart Challenge
Kids Heart Challenge
The P.E. department is very excited to announce the kick-off to another amazing Kids Heart Challenge fundraising event. February is Heart Health Month so it is the perfect time for this special program.
Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) is a school fundraising program that raises money for the American Heart Association, increases awareness for healthy living, and gets students excited to take action.

This will be an in-class event. Students will celebrate during PE class.
Teachers of the top 3 classes for money raised will receive a $25 Amazon card. Only grades 2-5 will participate. Our goal is $10,000. Last year we raised over $14,000.
We look forward to working with your kids to enhance their knowledge, skills, and behaviors during this service project!!

Tutor.com is now being provided to all students through the SC State Library. It provides free tutoring for any grade or subject area along with test prep and other services and is accessible to students via Clever.

Girls On The Run
This is a new Running Club for 6th-8th grade girls as a part of Girls on the Run. It includes the integration of social and emotional skill-building lessons. We hope to get healthy and eliminate stress! If your daughter has been looking for a way to get connected with peers here at Buist, or just wants to try something new, please reach out!

Thank you to everyone who has donated snacks and drinks to our faculty workrooms. This has been such a well-received activity that we would like to extend an invitation for parents to donate monthly. Please drop items off at the front office or send them in with your student.
There is no sign-up, we will restock as items are received.
