Kids Heart Challenge

The P.E. department is very excited to announce the kick-off to another amazing Kids Heart Challenge fundraising event. Kids Heart Challenge (formerly Jump Rope for Heart) is a school fundraising program that raises money for the American Heart Association, increases awareness for healthy living, and gets students excited to take action.

The website is www.heart.org/kidsheartchallenge

February is Heart Health Month so it is the perfect time for this special program.

  • This will be an in-class event. Students will celebrate during PE class.

  • Teachers of the top 3 classes for money raised will receive a $25 Amazon card. Only grades 2-5 will participate. Our goal is $10,000. Last year we raised over $14,000.

We look forward to working with your kids to enhance their knowledge, skills, and behaviors during this service project!!

Flyers will come home soon!

COVID Updates

Buist Academy and Charleston County School District are committed to prioritizing the health and safety of students and employees. Over the past three weeks, we have seen an increase in positive COVID cases at Buist Academy. We will monitor very closely the COVID rates in order to identify any trends or issues that would require a change in our protocols and daily practices.

Positive case information can be found on the CCSD COVID-19 Dashboard. The information included on the Dashboard applies to anyone associated with the school to include students, faculty, and staff (administration, instructional, custodial, food/nutrition).

We ask that each family consider the health and safety of our school community by taking health and safety precautions seriously at home and in the community.

For more information, please click the link below. Visit the CCSD COVID-19 website and dashboard frequently for updates.
