PLEASE NOTE:
Students in grades 10th -12th may apply to drive on campus.
Applications for Parking Permits must include an uploaded photo of your license.
ALL licenses are reviewed by the Security Director and SRO (School Resource Officer).
JICHS DOES NOT ACCEPT any of the follow and your application will be DENIED, No exceptions:
Beginner's Permit, where an adult (21+ yrs old ) must be in the vehicle is not accepted.
Expired Driver's License
Suspended Driver's License
International Driver's License - without proper paperwork.
Out of State DL Licenses or Out of State Beginners/Learners Permit (These should be surrendered within 45 days of moving to South Carolina for a South Carolina DL.)
Violation of Student Parking Policies include:
Speeding in excess of 10 mph
Reckless driving
Parking without a permit
Improper parking
Parking in unauthorized areas
Parking on grass (creating your own parking space)
Parking in another student’s spot.
No sharing spaces or allowing other students to park in unoccupied space during early out or late ins.
Students violating any parking policy may be ticketed, booted or towed at owner’s expense, and /or face disciplinary consequences, including forfeiture of parking privileges.
Students who have their parking privileges revoked or withdraw from JICHS will not receive parking fee refunds or reimbursements.
Fall graduates or students that withdraw at any time during the school year may not sell or transfer their permits to any student.
Parking Fines:
1st Offense: Warning
2nd Offense: $15.00
3rd Offense: Parking Privileges Suspended for 2 weeks
Parking on campus during the 2 weeks goes directly to 4th offense
4th Offense: Booted ($50.00 removal fee)
5th Offense: Car Towed at Owner’s Expense
*All vehicles without a JICHS parking Permit will be automatically booted (4th offense)
-Student can purchase a JICHS parking permit if available (no fine incurred)
-Another infraction without a permit will result in car being towed (5th offense)
*Any vehicle parked in a Handicap parking space without authorized legal documents or handicap license plates will be automatically upgraded to the 4th Offense: Booted with a $50.00 removal fee.
*Administrators have the authority to suspend a parking permit at their discretion.
*Parking fees are not refundable: Students who have their parking privileges revoked or withdraw from JICHS will not receive parking fee refunds or reimbursements.
*All fines will be added to PowerSchool the day of the infraction.
