Hometown:

Fayetteville, WV

Personal Background:

Before becoming a teacher I worked at Disney World’s EPCOT as part of the marine mammal team where I got to SCUBA dive every day, speak to the public about marine conservation and protecting marine mammals, helped train dolphins, and rehabilitated manatees so they could be released back into the wild.  While being at Disney was an amazing experience and I am extremely grateful for that time in my life, I have found my passion in teaching and I'm pretty sure this is what I want to do when I grow up :)

I have lived in Charleston for the past 8 years after moving from the D.C. area. I have a dog, Kona, and a cat, Oshie (named after U.S. Olympic team member and Washington Capitals player, T.J. Oshie). My parents still live in WV and I love to go back and visit them in the mountains for a few weeks each summer. My  brother, sister-in-law and 1 year old niece live in Charlotte, NC, and I try to make it up to see them at least once a month:)

Outside Interests:

Spending time outdoors and in nature is my favorite thing to do. I love to hike, camp, raft, kayak, and any other activity that gets me outside! I also love to cook and see live music of any kind.
