Orange Grove Charter Middle School
Meet the Counselor
Mrs. Goldwyn
Hello and Welcome! I am a Professional School Counselor, and this is my third year working in Charleston! I was previously the School Counselor at Simmons Pinckney Middle School. Prior to that, I worked in a 6-8 grade middle school in New Jersey for 6 years. My position as a school counselor is one I thoroughly love. I am allowed to advocate, support and influence our scholars. When I am not at work, I enjoy going to the beach and traveling to as many countries as possible.

In 2014 the South Carolina Legislation passed Erin’s Law, as part of the Comprehensive Health Education Act. Districts annually shall provide age-appropriate instruction in sexual abuse and assault awareness and prevention to all students in four-year-old kindergarten, where offered, through twelfth grade. The objective of the program is to educate all ages of children about what to do when confronted with abusive behavior such as safe and unsafe touches and other physical and emotional abuse. Every video in the various series emphasizes the importance of going to a parent or another trusted adult when confronted with an unsafe situation.
