About Me

Degrees:

B.S. Biology from Michigan State University

M. EdTech from Michigan State University

M. EdTech from the College of Charleston

Teaching Background: This is my 14th year teaching.  I started my career at Cane Bay High School the year it opened up, worked at Wando High School for about 10 years, and am now at the East Cooper Center for Advanced Studies.

I have taught Biology, Physical Science, Earth Science, PLTW Principles of Biomedical Science, and AP Computer Science Principles in the past.  This year, I am excited to introduce the PLTW Computer Science program to 6 new classes of students, teaching PLTW CS Essentials and PLTW CS Principles.  Throughout the years, I have also coached cross country, track, and basketball along the way.

Hometown: Mt. Pleasant, SC since 2008, Detroit, MI originally

Family: I married my beautiful wife, Megan, during the summer of 2021.  We also picked up a puppy named Bodie during the pandemic who is full of energy!  The rest of the family (2 parents, 3 siblings, and most of the extended family) is back up in Michigan.

Outside Interests: I love traveling and exploring new places, biking around, reading, watching most all sports (basketball wins here), swimming, and most things computers.  I might be a bit of a tech dork.
