We are have surpassed 177, 000 minutes read in the CCSD 30 million minute Reading challenge. This week's Top Readers are; Kingston Wilson, Antoine Brown-King, Maalik Patton and our 8th Grade scholars.

a. Cadets must have an emergency card on file to participate in school-sponsored field trips.
b. 7th graders must have a Tdap vaccine on file. Please submit an updated SC Immunization Certificate or the Pediatrician or Health Department appointment date and time. If you choose the health department, call the SC DHEC Appointment Line at 1-855-472-3432.
c. Many of our students will be getting gifts over the holidays that can cause harm to their fellow students. Please have your child(ren) refrain from using perfume, cologne, body sprays or scented lotions for school due to the high percentage of students and staff with allergies and asthma. Please instruct your children to keep all of these items at home. We welcome good hygiene with soap and deodorant and ask that fragrances be saved for special occasions. Thank you.
CCSD Policy Reminders
1. Parents, if your child is vomiting, they are to remain home until 24 hours without vomiting has passed.
2. Students with a fever of 100.0 or higher may not return to school until 24 hours without fever has passed and they are not taking fever-reducing medication. Please submit a written parent note or medical note to our office staff to explain absence(s).
3. Do not allow or encourage your students to carry over the counter medications to school. Only life saving medications with a doctor's order on file are permitted.

a. 10th grade IGP meetings will continue this week. Cadets are expected to keep up with MMA and CCSD emails.
b. MMA Counselor Canvas page is operable and weekly scholarships are being posted in Xello. JR/SR Cadets can access scholarships and their transcripts in Xello.

Tardiness Concerns: Unexcused tardiness places families at risk for Attendance Interventions, and may lead to a recommendation for your cadet’s return to their homeschool. (CCSD provided transportation delays are excused.)

Parents, student fees are due. Cash Payments can be made between 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Preferrably it is more efficient for you to continue making payments via “RevTrak” - Under the "Los materials, late payments tab" and/or by money order. Be sure to include your cadet scholar's name in the comments.

Contracts have been emailed over the past TWO WEEKS, and many have NOT been opened or signed. Contracts are being distributed by grade level and homeroom.
Please check your email inbox AND spam folder and complete all required electronic signatures as swiftly as possible.
ALL Remaining grades 9–12 contracts will be fully distributed by THIS FRIDAY to the email address listed in Parent Portal for Registration and Re-enrollment.

• Correct forms are required for Early Departures and Parent Absent Notes to allow for planned, prepared pickups and for absences to be considered for excusal. Cadets will not be dismissed between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m. as we prepare for our end of day procedures..
• Forms previously sent home were NOT returned by the state-approved deadline, resulting in absences remaining UNEXCUSED.
• Absence Documentation: Medical excuses and Parent Absent Note forms MUST be submitted within 72 HOURS of the absence.Emails and Phone calls are NOT legal excuses for absences or early pickup.
• Families are allotted TEN (10) days of lawful ParentAbsent Note Forms per school calendar year. Many families are nearing or have exceeded this limit. Once the maximum is reached, additional absences may result in a Truancy Intervention Plan and assigned Seat Time Recovery hours.
• Families aware of prolonged or upcoming absences should notify the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, as accommodations may be available to prevent truancy concerns and academic impact.
