a. Cadets must have an emergency card on file to participate in school-sponsored field trips.
b. Spring allergy season is upon us! If your child has allergies to tree pollen, grass pollen or ragweed pollen, starting daily allergy medication under consultation of your child's primary care provider sooner rather than later will benefit your child.
Whether allergies or a virus causing post-nasal drip, encourage your child to gargle with salt water 2-4 times a day, wash hands often and drink more water!
c. GNATS (No-see-ums) and Mosquitos: Remember Skin So Soft, No Natz, Babyganics natural Insect Repellent or some type of repellent before your child comes to school.
d. Medications: Students are not allowed to carry over the counter or prescription medications on their person at school except for specific life saving medications with a doctor’s order and parent written permission on file.
CCSD Policy Reminders
1. Parents, if your child is vomiting, they are to remain home until 24 hours without vomiting has passed.
2. Students with a fever of 100.0 or higher may not return to school until 24 hours without fever has passed and they are not taking fever-reducing medication. Please submit a written parent note or medical note to our office staff to explain absence(s).
3. Do not allow or encourage your students to carry over the counter medications to school. Only life saving medications with a doctor's order on file are permitted.

PARENTS AND CADETS – TIME-SENSITIVE NOTICE
Contracts have been emailed over the past TWO WEEKS, and many have NOT been opened or signed. Contracts are being distributed by grade level and homeroom.
Please check your email inbox AND spam folder and complete all required electronic signatures as swiftly as possible.
ALL Remaining grades 9–12 contracts will be fully distributed by THIS FRIDAY to the email address listed in Parent Portal for Registration and Re-enrollment.

• Correct forms are required for Early Departures and Parent Absent Notes to allow for planned, prepared pickups and for absences to be considered for excusal. Cadets will not be dismissed between 3:15 and 3:45 p.m. as we prepare for our end of day procedures..
• Forms previously sent home were NOT returned by the state-approved deadline, resulting in absences remaining UNEXCUSED.
• Absence Documentation: Medical excuses and Parent Absent Note forms MUST be submitted within 72 HOURS of the absence.Emails and Phone calls are NOT legal excuses for absences or early pickup.
• Families are allotted TEN (10) days of lawful ParentAbsent Note Forms per school calendar year. Many families are nearing or have exceeded this limit. Once the maximum is reached, additional absences may result in a Truancy Intervention Plan and assigned Seat Time Recovery hours.
• Families aware of prolonged or upcoming absences should notify the school AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, as accommodations may be available to prevent truancy concerns and academic impact.
