Zoe Harbison originally hails from Charlottesville, VA. She received a Bachelor of Music Education and a Viola Performance Certificate from the University of South Carolina, where she taught at the renowned String Project. Ms. Harbison then went on to Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA where she received a Master of Music degree in viola performance and was principal viola of the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic. She is an avid performer, and played with numerous orchestras in the Pittsburgh region, where she was the assistant principal viola of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and acting principal viola of the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra among others. Ms. Harbison is excited to direct the orchestra and guitar programs at CE Williams Middle School for Creative and Scientific Arts, and loves to spend her time teaching private lessons, playing viola, and hanging out with her cats.
