Jennifer Waldron is the K4 - grade 5 STEAM Specialist at Ashley River Creative Art Elementary. Jennifer earned her Masters in Elementary Education through a collaborative internship program at Lesley University and is certified in both Elementary and Gifted & Talented Education. Jennifer has written and been awarded grants from Bosch, Walmart, AFCEA (Armed Forces Communication and Electronics Association) and Toshiba that have helped fuel her passion for STEAM infused education.
She has presented at a number of conferences including; ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education), PSAE (Palmetto State Arts Education), CSTA at The Citadel STEM Center (Computer Science Teacher Association), Region 5 Gifted & Talented Professional Learning Mini-Conference and The Charlotte Mini-Maker Faire at Discovery Place.
In 2018 Ms. Waldron wrote a chapter for a higher education publication, Identifying, Describing and Developing Teachers Who Are Gifted and Talented by IGI Global, and and is a frequent educational blogger for PLAYtek, a company she co-founded with her husband, Tom Noren. Most recently Jennifer participated in two Google funded research studies through Harvard Graduate School of Education; Design Patterns for K-12 Creative Computing and Assessing Creative Work in Computer Science Classes. Jennifer enjoys teaching, learning, tinkering, sharing and collaborating.
Ms. Waldron is a recent recipient of the Lemelson-MIT Excite Award 2021 enabling her to attend their Creative Problem Solving and Inventing Virtual Workshop, July 2021.
