I can explain East Asia.
Before you start this activity, you will need four different thin color markers or map colors (blue, yellow, red, and green). You can download the reading into a Microsoft Word Document or Google Doc to highlight without having to print the document.
Read the “Comparing Economies of South & East Asia” document. You will be reading about five different countries and their economies. Download this as a Google Doc or Microsoft Word Document to be able to highlight without having to print.
Once you have read the article, complete the “Comparing Economies of South & East Asia” tables for each country. You can complete this by downloading it as a Google Doc or Microsoft Word Document. You can also complete this on paper by drawing the tables.
Next, based on what you learned about who is in control of each country’s economy, predict the location of each country on the “Economic Continuum” line. You will label the continuum with all five countries in your completed tables. This is part of the download from step 3 or can be completed by drawing the line on paper.
Finally, based on all you have learned, predict how the five countries are ranked in terms of the strength of their economies. You must explain/justify your reasoning for the rankings. You will enter your answers on the “Comparing Economies of South & East Asia” Google Form. (This is for a grade.)
