Cultivating Appreciative Operating Systems in Ourselves and Our Organizations
Host: Ron Fry
Panelists: Jackie Stavros, Scot Lowry, Pru Sullivan, Lindsey Godwin
In this thought-provoking session, we will explore how Appreciative Inquiry is much more than a change management tool, but is also a powerful operating system for approaching our lives and designing our organizations. We'll explore how AI principles can shape daily mindsets and practices, as well as how companies like Green Mountain Coffee Roasters have integrated AI into their cultures. This session promises to inspire fresh opportunities for living and leading from an AI perspective

Highlights from Regional Gatherings
Hosts: Kim Marie McKernan, Terry Fulcher, Christine Cayré, Stephen Read, Marlene Ogawa, Dr. Justine Chinoprekweyi, and Ignacio Pavez
This year we encouraged In-Person Regional Gatherings where possible, with a goal of invigorating regional hubs through in-person networking. We had 4 such gatherings take place: in Buffalo, NY, in France, in Chile, and in Zimbabwe. During this session, you will hear from the hosts of these gatherings, get a sense of the in-person energy, and learn about how it was organized, perhaps to inspire your own in-person gathering in the future!?
12:30-2:30pm ET | 6:30-8:30pm CET | 12:30-2:30am SGT | 3:30-5:30am AEST
Community Open Space
ROOM 1: Jennifer Ozgur - AI in K12 Education: How can AI build a sense of belonging and elevate school cultures? What can I do right now to make a positive shift in my district?
ROOM 2: Nick Heap - How can we "Naturalise" AI" so it becomes as natural as breathing everywhere? What have you already done to use Appreciative Inquiry without calling it Appreciative Inquiry or using jargon? What worked? What was great about it? How would you explain Appreciative Inquiry to a bright 10-year-old without using jargon? Where in public life would an Appreciative Inquiry approach make a positive difference? Who needs to know more about Appreciative Inquiry? What would be the benefits of Appreciative Inquiry thinking and methods being used more widely and naturally? Where would be an exciting and surprising place to find accessible information about it? Who has done great work making Appreciative Inquiry accessible to all? What micro-practices (like expressing appreciation) could you/we use now to "naturalise" it?
ROOM 3: Chris Basgier: Wise Words: An Appreciative Approach to Using Generative Artificial Intelligence - Many people have responded to the growth of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) either emotionally (fear, excitement) or pragmatically (using it for expediency or efficiency). In this discussion, we will ask, what might it mean to engage with GAI through the lens of wisdom? I will begin by introducing a framework for wise action and wise words (based in Aristotelian phronesis), and I will discuss how it might be applied throughout the process of utilizing GAI applications. Then, we will have an opportunity to "practice wisdom" together by prompting ChatGPT and considering how wisdom could be applied. Participants will come out with ideas about utilizing GAI wisely in their appreciative inquiry work, and leading wise conversations about GAI.
ROOM 4: Debra Cady: Trauma-Informed Principles at work in AI Practice - What are trauma-informed principles and how can they help with our AI practice? How can we be more trauma-informed? Let’s share our collective examples and learn from each other!
3-4:30pm ET | 9-10:30pm CET | 3-4:30am SGT | 6-7:30am AEST
The Transformation Horizon: Creating Flourishing Futures

Participants will leave with specific examples of approaches to help create flourishing futures in their communities.
