TEASA which stands for Teens In Everett Against Substance Abuse is a youth program through the Community Health Youth Initiatives department. The group’s core values are: Youth, Community, Leadership, and Advocacy. Through this group, youth develop leadership and advocacy skills while learning about mental health and substance use prevention. Provide peer education and be a voice for teens in Everett.
This group has been learning about positive social norms campaigns and creating messages to prevent substance misuse in the Everett community amongst youth. Our goal and purpose of this podcast is to give youth the platform to continue these conversations with their peers as well as empower teens to explore and discuss substance use prevention through research, storytelling, and peer-led podcast episodes. Taking a deeper dive into substance use: mental health, peer pressure, and social media influence in a new way.
