The conference is scheduled from 12-1, but realistically lasts from about 12:05 to 12:55
Make the conference interactive and engaging by getting the audience involved
Think about how you are going to involve the on-line group along with the on-site group
Be judicious in Power Point use (https://support.office.com/en-us/article/Tips-for-creating-and-delivering-an-effective-presentation-f43156b0-20d2-4c51-8345-0c337cefb88b)
Prepare the presentation at least 1 week in advance and send to your preceptor for input/feedback
Helpful to start with a guiding question to get the audience "warmed up" and thinking about the topic
Have a patient case that illustrates the research question that you can return to at the end
Include relevant discussion of the methodology and at least one EBM learning point and one clinical takeaway.
Have the audience put their nickel down at the end with the patient case - are they convinced by the study or not? What course of action would they take in patient care?
