Evidencing Learning in Mathematics: What and how do we assess?

Assessment Criteria

In the Village School, we use an assessment criteria to measure students' understanding in Math. We look at the student's conceptual understanding and procedural fluency, problem solving, and communicating reasoning.

Self-Assessment & Reflection

Students take an active part in reflecting on what they have learned and how they have learned. This process allows them to grow as reflective learners who can identify what they already understand and can do and areas they still need to work on. Together with their teachers, they plan for the next steps in order to reach their goals.
