Mr. Hencey

9 - 12 Art & Design Teacher

Mr. Hencey was born and raised in Chadron, Nebraska and graduated Chadron High School, Class of 2005. An early interest in creative pursuits led him to study visual art and humanities at Chadron State College from 2005 to 2009. After working in the tech and design realms, he returned to Chadron State College in 2014 to explore teaching. Mr. Hencey found his way back to Chadron Public Schools in 2017, teaching in the same classrooms that built his art skills as a student. He loves spending all day sharing his passion for art, design, and all things creative.

Mr. Hencey continues to produce and exhibit his own original artwork in the region. His artwork tends to take the form of drawings and mixed media collages which deal with themes of memory, family, and the regional landscape.

Mrs. Tewahade

K - 8 Art & Design Teacher

Mrs. Tewahade was born and raised in Torrington, Wyoming. She studied Art Education at Chadron State College graduating in 2005. After teaching for several years in Hay Springs, NE, Mrs. Tewahade decided to stay home with her growing family. It is then that she decided to open her own business, Ta-da! Art Studios and Quilt Shop in Chadron. Its a place for the whole community to learn and grow in art.

Growing up in the 4-H program was a big influence on her love of art and fibers. It was especially influential on her love of quilting and fiber arts which is her favorite medium to work with.

Mrs. Tewahade is excited to join the Chadron Public School art department and continue to share her love of art and exploration with the community.
