Kindergarten Registration
Kindergarten Registration for the 24-25 School Year is Now Open
All registration is done via the Genesis Registration Portal We ask that all families register their children as soon as possible to plan for classes in September efficiently.
Attention Parents: Before logging off from your Registration Portal, please create an account by going to the "Review and Submit" tab, (located at the top of the page). Scroll to the bottom of the "Review and Submit" page, and you will see a message that reads, "Creating an account is required in order to submit."
Creating an account will verify that your information is stored and accessible in our student information system for future retrieval. You will have the option to return to the Kindergarten registration at a later date to continue working on your registration.
Note to current families: the Genesis registration portal is separate from the Parent Portal. You must use the registration portal to register children entering the district for the first time.

Follow the steps below to begin your registration.
You may locate your resident elementary school on the list of Elementary School Boundaries.
Review the registration requirements below.
Download the required forms (See links in Registration Requirements).
Scan your completed forms and save them to your computer. You will upload these forms during the registration process. PDF or JPEG only.
Go to the Genesis Registration Portal and follow the instructions to complete your child's registration.
Enter your email and create a password so you can return to the registration portal and add any missing documents later if needed.
You will be notified when your registration has been processed and if we need additional documents/information.
REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Proof of Age: You must provide a scan of your child’s original birth certificate. A child is eligible for entrance into Kindergarten if they have attained the age of 5 by October 1 of the year in which entrance is sought.
2. Proof of Residency: You must be a resident of Cedar Grove, NJ, to register for school, and the following items must be provided at registration:
A. If you own your residence, please provide the following:
1. Completed Student Registration Form (Click Here)
2. A copy of your Deed, Mortgage Statement, or Property Tax Bill
3. Two of the following additional documents with your name and address:
Deed, Mortage Statement or Property Tax Bill (not presented in 2.), utility/water/cable bill, telephone bill, insurance bill, bank statement, recent pay stub,
current NJ driver's license.
B. If you rent your residence, please present the following:
Completed Student Registration Form (Click Here)
Completed and Notarized Landlord Affidavit (Click Here)
Copy of your current rental landlord lease
Two of the following additional documents with your name and address:
Utility/water/cable bill, telephone bill, insurance bill, bank statement, recent pay stub, and current NJ driver's license.
C. Residing with family member:
Completed Student Registration Form (Click Here)
Notarized letter from the homeowner stating that you are living in their home and the anticipated duration of stay.
A copy of the homeowner's deed, mortgage, or property tax bill.
Two of the following additional documents with your name and address: Telephone bill, insurance bill, bank statement, recent pay stub, current NJ driver's license.
3. Medical Requirements: Please provide the following information to upload:
Your child’s immunization record TO DATE, completed and signed by the doctor.
You may submit your doctor’s office forms or have your doctor complete our forms (Click Here). The nurse will follow up with you for any missing or additional information.
Universal Child Health Record: Completed and signed by the doctor. You may submit your doctor's office forms or have your doctor complete our forms.
Student Health History, to be completed by the Parent.

Proof of Residency 1- Mortgage statement, tax bill, Deed, or current lease
Proof of Residency 2- One of the documents: Deed, mortgage statement, tax bill, phone or insurance bill, bank statement, pay stub, and/or current NJ driver's license
Proof of Residency 3- Provide one of the following additional documents: Deed, mortgage statement, tax bill, utility, phone or insurance bill, bank statement, pay stub, and/or current NJ driver's license.
Signed landlord lease (for rented properties only). Note: Only provide the first page that contains the name, address, and lease terms.
