T-shirt bracelets are a cheap, quick, and easy way to learn how to knit. This project uses a technique called finger knitting to introduce you to the skill. Once you have mastered finger knitting, you may want to give arm knitting a try. Along with learning how to make sourdough bread and DIY art projects, arm knitted throw blankets became very popular during Covid quarantines.
This is a project that we will try during in-person programming. If you have a colorful old t-shirt that you want to get rid of bring it in for this activity.
Quilling is a craft/art form that takes a simple concept like paper folding to a whole new level. There are so many things you can make if you know how to quill, just check out the succulent garden below....yes everything in it is folded paper.
The videos provided will teach you many different shapes that can be made with a basic, beginners coil and even how to make a nearly free quilling tool.
Collect/Select pinecones that are a couple of different sizes so you can make full flowers and flower buds.
Pick out a two or three paint colors.
Grab a small paint brush.
Break the larger pinecones in two or three pieces by gently twisting them apart.
Paint the concave side of the pinecone pieces and the woody seed scale of the small pinecones.
After they are dry, you can use these for different projects like this door wreath.
You can also make flowers by painting small cones from the bottom side to create Zinnias like the ones pictured here.
