Task 3

This section is where designs move from just ideas into workable designs. You need to start using and referencing research that you have used to help make good decisions. This can be books, photos, images, interviews, other peoples opinions, data.

Task 3 Refinement of ideas

• Select one or two designs for further consideration and development
• Consider further improvements and refinements of aesthetic and function. Try to blend in more exploration work from alternative sources
• Consider room layout and sizes based on research information and existing room analysis.
• Refine ideas such as window styles, roofing shape, exterior aesthetic, room layouts for toilet facilities, kitchen facilities, classroom layout, café seating and improving the passive energy qualities. Use research as necessary (public toilet ergonomics, kitchen and eating area data, windows and material possibilities, interior styles, staircases and emergency access, etc.
