Welcome to BIO 160 Hybrid: Introduction to Anatomy and Physiology

Hybrid Course

Labs: meet IN PERSON Tuesdays from 1:30PM to 4:15PM

Location: Williams Campus, ENGEL 118

Lectures: Online

Instructor: Professor Cala

Email: jacqueline.cala@cgc.edu

This is a hybrid course. Traditional lecture content is delivered online through the Canvas site while labs are completed in-person.

You can learn more about the differences between in-person, hybrid, and online courses on the CGCC eLearning page .

Even if you've taken an online or hybrid course, I strongly recommend completing the CGCC eQuiz: Am I Ready for eLearning?

Who should take BIO 160?

Students fit for BIO 160 are students that are interested in exploring the human body because it is relevant to their career path or simply because they want to understand how we work! Students can take this to evaluate whether a health-related field aligns with their interest, or who would like to be exposed to anatomy and physiology concepts before taking the year long intense 201 and 202 series. This course is NOT meant for students who are searching for an easy course to fulfill their science credit. Consider BIO 100 instead!

What will the online portion of class look like?

We will be using a program called Nearpod for our online "lectures"

You won't be bored listening passively to an instructor lecture for an hour and fifteen minutes. Instead, you'll interact with the content by viewing slides, practicing what you learned, watching videos, and more!

Cost: Free!

What is Nearpod?

What textbook will we use?

What is Visible Body?

Our "textbook" is an interactive online program

We will be using Visible Body for our textbook and online interactive homework. Anatomy and Physiology is a tough subject, but this resource will help you explore the human body in a 3D realistic way! E-books not your jam? I recommend the free OpenStax textbook that you could always print!

Cost: $49.99

What will the in person labs be?

Explore your heart waves

Test your senses

Perform Dissections
