My Family

I am the luckiest person in the world if you ask me. I have an amazing family and I get to work with the best kids ever!

Cool Fact: I was born on Friday the 13th. (Do any of you know why that is interesting?)

Mr. Hutch is an art teacher at Coventry High School. We have been married for almost 25 years!

Cool Fact: Mr. Hutch was Ms. Bittner's high school art teacher.

My son's name is Will. We used to call him BJ (I still do). He is 22 years old. He goes to Bowling Green University and will graduate in May with a degree in Marine Biology.

Cool Fact: BJ spent two weeks in South Africa studying and swimming with Great White Sharks!

My daughter is Kassie. She is 20 years old. She is a very special young lady. Sometimes her brain works a little differently than most of ours. This makes things a little bit harder for her sometimes, but it also makes her incredible!

Cool Fact: Kassie's full name is Kassandra. My full name is Sandra. So Kassie is named after me.

My Favorite Things

You might notice we LOVE the Steelers!!!!

Our cats are definitely part of the family.

Just like you do, I love hanging out with my friends.

We like to do things for the community. This is the day we took food to the local police department to show our appreciation for what they do for us.

Our favorite vacation place is Hilton Head, South Carolina.

We get to go there every other year. This is a picture of one of the pools where we stay.

My Education

I went to school right here in Cuyahoga Falls Schools! I went to elementary school at Lincoln Elementary. Then I attended Robert Junior High/Middle School. I graduated in the Cuyahoga Falls High School Class of 1988.

In college, I received my undergraduate degree from the University of Akron. A few years later, I went and got my masters degree in Special Education from Kent State.

Did you know teachers have to continue learning too? I keep taking classes and workshops so I can be the best person I can to help you get all YOU can out of being in my class!

My Teaching Experience

I have been a teacher for 26 years now. All 26 of those years have been right here in Cuyahoga Falls. I taught at DeWitt Elementary for four years and have been right here at Silver Lake ever since. Until 5 years ago, I taught 4th and 5th grade. I loved it. And then the opportunity came to try something different. I didn't realize how much I would enjoy a change, but I am thankful everyday that Mrs. Seifert (my principal at the time) felt I would be a good fit for 2nd grade. This is where I belong. And I plan to be here for many more years!
