Winter 2024-25 Update
The construction of the new 6-12 campus continues to progress on schedule, with exciting milestones being reached as we prepare for the building’s January 2026 opening.
The entire structure is now under roof, with all exterior openings—doors and windows—enclosed, except for temporary access points. The exterior brick veneer is substantially complete, marking a significant step in the project’s development.
Throughout the winter, the focus has shifted to interior finishes and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) work. These efforts include drywall, casework, paint, flooring, ceilings, and more, which are advancing systematically across different areas of the building.
Highlights of ongoing work include:
High School Gymnasium: Installation of basketball hoops, ductwork, paint, and sound panels.
Arts Wing: Overhead rough-ins are progressing.
Auditorium: Structural and MEP rough-ins are underway.
Looking ahead, stadium construction will continue this winter, with bleacher installation continuing into spring. Turf installation for the field is scheduled to start Spring 2025. While our construction team advises us that it is still too early to make definitive plans at this time, we are hopeful that a portion of the soccer and football seasons will be played in the new stadium in the Fall 2025. We can confirm that the 2025 football season will start at Clifford Stadium so we can celebrate the legacy of the stadium one last time.
As the new 6-12 campus takes shape, we continue to collaborate with the Cuyahoga Falls Parks and Recreation Department to determine the future location of tennis courts for our students. While the campus property size prevented new tennis courts and baseball/softball fields from being included in the project, our baseball and softball teams will continue to utilize the current fields, ensuring uninterrupted access to their facilities. We are grateful for the continued community support as we work to complete this transformative space for our students. Additional updates will be provided as progress continues.
Fall 2024 Update

The dry summer weather has allowed construction on the 6-12 campus to remain on schedule. The Portage Trail turn lane and new traffic signal were completed in August, improving traffic flow and safety. The painting in the academic classrooms is finished in Building One, and cabinetry and flooring are currently being installed. The roofing for the Performing Arts Center and visual art spaces is expected to be completed this fall. Crews also worked in the stadium this summer, installing lights and pouring concrete for the bleachers. The bleacher seating will be installed later this fall and through winter, and we anticipate the bulk of masonry work to wrap up by the end of the year. As we continue to update the community on the progress of the new campus, we've received several questions about its development and the closure of the middle and high schools. To keep everyone informed, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions:
When will the new campus open?
January 2026
What will happen to the current high school, Bolich Middle School, and Roberts Middle School?
The high school and Roberts Middle School will be sold once the buildings are vacated. Bolich will be demolished for additional parking at the new campus.
Will the community have a chance to tour the middle and high schools before they are demolished or sold?
Yes! The district will offer opportunities for community members to visit the buildings one final time. Dates for these tours will be announced during the 2025-26 school year and shared via our social media accounts and website.

Summer 2024 update
Construction on the 6-12 campus is incredibly active this summer. Interior work on the three-story classroom section continues including ceiling grid, paint, drywall and casework installation. The structural work for the student dining area, competition gymnasium, and lower gymnasium of the middle school is complete, with roofing installation finishing during the month of July. The stadium retaining walls have been completed. Miscellaneous drainage for the field area and stadium lights will be installed in the coming weeks. On the south side of campus, the art wing masonry bearing walls are almost complete and steel erection has begun in this area. Additionally, Portage Trail will undergo a road widening project this summer. This improvement project will add a turning lane, providing access to the campus from the westbound lanes. The roadwork will be completed in August, prior to the start of the school year.
Beam Signing Event
The community gathered on Saturday, May 18, 2024, to add their names to three special beams that will be installed in the ceiling of the new Performing Arts Center. Mayors, city leaders, former and current Board of Education members, alumni, current students, and future students spanning multiple generations enjoyed signing their names and graduation years to the yellow beams for future generations to find. These beams will be installed in the ceiling above the mezzanine in the new auditorium during the summer of 2024.
After signing the beams, guests had the opportunity to view design boards that displayed flooring samples, paint colors, carpet samples, and furniture finishes. It was also an opportunity for guests to view the construction site up close and ask questions about the project.

Since the groundbreaking on September 27, 2022 to the fall of 2023, the progress of the new campus has been remarkable. This video, using drone images taken on September 29, 2023, shows how far the campus has come in the past year! The drone images were taken on Novembeer 2, 2023.
September 2023 Update
Construction of the new Cuyahoga Falls 6-12 campus school is entering an exciting phase of activity where you will begin to see the true size and shape of the building. Over the last few months, extensive site work and installation of underground utilities within the building footprint have been completed. The concrete foundations of the school are approximately 75% complete, and the remainder will be installed through the winter. Looking ahead, construction activities will be focused on enclosing the three-story classroom structure. Steel arrived on site at the end of July, and the steel erector is currently building the steel “skeleton” of the classroom learning areas. As the steel structure is put into place, construction crews will follow with exterior framing, sheathing, and roofing. The goal is to enclose the classroom section by winter, and work will then move to the interior of the building. Work will commence inside the academic areas, with interior framing, drywall installation, and Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing or “MEP” rough-ins. Additionally, work is being accomplished on the future high school and middle school gymnasiums. On the north side of the classroom structure, you will see masonry block and steel being put in place to construct the high-bay areas of the two gymnasiums.
There are approximately 100 construction workers on site every day, and by this time next year, that number will double. The project continues to track on schedule, with an expected opening during the 2025-2026 school year.
