The viola (pronounced: vee-oh-lah) looks a lot like a violin and is played under your chin. The viola is a bit larger than the violin and has a deeper and lower sound. The viola harmonies add richness to the sound of the orchestra. If the orchestra were a candy bar, the violas would be the caramel.
