2020 Senior Scholarships
The Cedar Falls Schools Foundation (CFSF) is pleased to announce the following scholarships available to 2020 Cedar Falls High School graduates.
Please click on the individual scholarship to complete an application.
All applications will be reviewed by a scholarship selection committee at Cedar Falls High School, and will be awarded at the Honors Convocation Ceremony in May.
Awarded scholarships will be sent directly to the recipient’s college, after the CFSF receives the recipient's college enrollment documents. More details will be provided to the recipients at the Honors Convocation Ceremony.
The deadline for 2020 applications is April 15, 2020.
Plans to pursue a fine arts related degree or minor
Student has excelled in visual or creative arts such as art, music or drama while in high school
Is a good citizen of the community
Plans to pursue a technical degree
Is planning to attend post-secondary school in a 2 or 4 year degree or transfer program
Is a good citizen of the community and inclusive leadership at CFHS
Is a student that has been involved in community service, in and outside of the school
Must be a good citizen of the school community and the community of Cedar Falls
Must have a high school grade point average of 2.75 or better
Preference will be given to a student that has not received other 'academic' scholarships
Service to others, rather than scholarly effort, is the primary basis for this award
Is a good citizen of the community
Has shown diligent study while at Cedar Falls High School
Has maintained a 2.9 minimum GPA while at CFHS
Applicant must have financial need
Is planning to attend post-secondary school in a 2 or 4 year degree or transfer program
If the recipient maintains a 2.0 minimum GPA in post-secondary school and can verify a full time enrollment status, $1,000 may be received annually for up to 4 years
Must have either overcome adversity in your life and grown from it, or
Volunteered in the community to better the lives of others who are struggling with their own adversities
Has maintained a 2.5 minimum GPA while at CFHS
Is planning to attend an accredited university, community college, or technical school
Must submit two letters of recommendation from non-related individuals that can support your essay and positive citizenship
Recipient is planning to pursue a college degree in education
Recipient is planning to become an elementary or secondary school teacher
If there is more than one qualifying candidate, financial need will be considered
Is planning to attend post-secondary school in a 2 or 4 year degree or transfer program
Award will be made to a student that has dealt with the critical illness of a family member
Must be a good citizen of the school community and the community of Cedar Falls
Is planning to attend post-secondary school in a 2 or 4 year degree or transfer program
Preference will be given to applicant with financial need
Must be a female student with scholastic promise, high moral character and financial need
Must be pursuing a four year degree at a state or private school for higher education within the State of Iowa
Scholarship is available to chosen recipients for four years, provided the recipient maintains a grade point average of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale
Provide 2 references:
- Give one reference form and an envelope to a high school teacher

Has maintained a 3.0 minimum GPA while at CFHS
Is planning to attend post-secondary school in a 2 or 4 year degree or transfer program
Preference will be given to a student that has successfully completed at least one semester in the CAPS program
Is planning to attend post-secondary school in a 2 or 4 year degree or transfer program
Preference will be given to a student not receiving other graduating senior scholarships
