I grew up in CFISD, going to Wilson Elementary, Watkins Middle School and Langham Creek High School. My aspirations going to college was to be a high school band director, however, I quickly realized my love of teaching in Elementary school my Junior year. This led to me getting my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education (K-12) from the University of Houston, Moores School of Music.
My first job as a Music Specialist was at Keith Elementary in CFISD. I moved to Rennell Elementary the first year it opened in order to be closer to my home. In 2016, I got my Master's Degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.
I've been working on gaining experience in core content grade levels for several years now so that when I move to administration, I am more prepared. I was chosen to participate in the CFISD Aspiring Administrators Institute for the 2018-2019 school year.
So after teaching Music K-5 for 13 years, I moved to teaching 2nd grade Math/Science in the fall of 2017. I am now in my 17th year of teaching, and am excited to be self-contained for the second time.
Teaching is my passion and I can't wait to share my love of learning with my students!
