A little about Mrs. Koops

Please let me tell you about me!

I did not grow up around here, however I have lived in Texas for almost half of my life! I grew up in Indiana, where most of my family still lives. I attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana where I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. I am still a huge Boilermaker fan and love to watch them play football and basketball! BOILER UP! HAMMER DOWN!

After graduating from Purdue, I started my career in education in Spring ISD, teaching 7th and 8th grade health and coaching 8th grade volleyball. My next teaching job came in CFISD, at Frazier Elementary where I taught K-5 PE for 9 years. I then got an itch for a change and received the opportunity to go back into the classroom where I got to teach 4th grade math and science to ESL and bilingual students. I was stretched and grew throughout the year because of the blessing that I received to teach those particular students, and in turn received the award of Teacher of the Year in 2018 at Frazier Elementary. I was beyond surprised and honored to receive the award, and I made sure that my students that year knew that they were the reason that I received that award.

Just as I was blessed to take that classroom position a few years ago, I was blessed again by receiving the opportunity to move to a campus that was much closer to home... Robison Elementary. This will be my second year at A. Robison Elementary and I am loving it! I get to be close to home, have my daughter at school with me, and teach great kids like yours! I look forward to teaching, guiding, motivating and supporting your 4th grader in learning this school year!

When I am not teaching, I love to bake, cook, watch Purdue sports (BOILER UP!), the Astros (GO 'STROS!!!) and spend time with my family and friends. My husband Chris and I have been married for almost 5 years and we have 3 beautiful daughters between us. We have a 3 1/2 year old daughter, Lily, who runs the house... or at least tries to! We have a 10 year old daughter, Lanie, who is a 5th grader here at Robison! I also have a stepdaughter, Lauren, who attends Cy Ranch, where she will be a senior this year! We have our hands full with these three girls, and they keep us very busy, but they are amazing and make our lives all the more exciting!
