Fiction:

4. How did _____ (character) feel in the story? Why did they feel this way?

5. How did the author organize the book? fiction features (question #2)

6 What is the lesson the character learned?

7. If you could rewrite the ending, how would the story end?

Nonfiction:

1. What is the title of this story? Why did the author use this title?

2. What is the main idea? What is the author’s book mainly about?

3. What genre is this book? How do you know?

4. Look at a heading or topic your author wrote about. Nonfiction- retell 3 facts

5. How did the author organize the book? Text features (table of contents, headings, captions, illustrations, glossary, index)

6. What lesson or problem did the author want to teach you?

7. What other section would you add to your book?

Both:

1. What is your favorite part of the book?

2. Did you enjoy the book? Why or why not?
