HI!

My Name is Vanessa Cowhey and I am thrilled to be teaching 4th grade Math and Science at Pope Elementary. This year will be my 2nd year teaching full-time in Cy-Fair.

I love spending time in the classroom with my students. We work hard, play hard, and have fun learning!

ALL ABOUT ME...

In 2003, my husband Kevin and I built our family through adoption. Our boys are from Kazakhstan and our daughter is from Guatemala.

We moved to Cypress from Chicago in 2011. Ryan is attending The Theatre School at DePaul University this fall pursuing a BFA in Acting (insert first time college mama tears); DJ is a senior at Cypress Ranch and competes on the wrestling team; and Mia, my artist, is in 8th grade at Smith Middle School.

Having the opportunity to stay-at-home with my children for over a decade, I enjoyed my time volunteering at school and served on the PTA/PTO Board for three years as President (two at Warner), and Secretary of the Cy Ranch Theatre Booster Club.

I dabbled into teaching as substitute teacher for three years prior to obtaining my EC-6 Teaching Certification. My first long-term substitute assignment was in 4th Grade at Pope; three years later, I'm right back where I started! It's a perfect fit!
