Music Memory

Music Memory is a district-wide program that all 4th and 5th grade students participate in throughout the year. All students will learn the material in class, but the option to participate in the contest is voluntary. In the spring, a 7-person team will be selected to represent Keith at the District Music Memory Contest at the Berry Center. Below are the listening selections for this year:

1. The Four Seasons “Spring” by Vivaldi

2. String Quartet in C, Op. 33 No. 3 “The Bird,” Fourth Movement by Haydn

3. The Barber of Seville “Largo al factotum” by Rossini

4. Symphony No. 9 in D minor, Op. 125 “Fourth Movement” (excerpt) by Beethoven

5. Symphony No. 4 “Fourth Movement” by Tchaikovsky

6. “American Salute” by Gould

7. Bachianas Brasileiras No. 2 “The Little Train of the Caipira” by Villa-Lobos

8. “Take Five” by Desmond

I will be studying and reviewing with the selected students in the mornings in April and May.
