About the Directors

Meet Shannon Jagdeo, Head Orchestra Director:

What a wonderful and exciting year this is going to be! Let me tell you a little about myself. I grew up in Cy-Fair ISD and graduated from Cypress Creek HS in 2004. I then went to the University of Houston's Moores School of Music (GO COOGS!) on a four year music scholarship where I earned a Bachelor of Music Performance in Violin. During my time in college I realized how much I loved teaching music and what a passion I had for it. Soon after graduating college I started to work at Goodson and have been here ever since!
My husband, Peter, is also an orchestra director at Tomball Memorial High School and plays the violin. We have two sweet kiddos - our son, Hans and daughter, Halley. We also have the cutest shiba inu, Fuji!
In case you were wondering how to pronounce my last name it's JAG - D - O (Jagdeo)!! In my free time I love to go shopping, spending time with family, TRAVELING and the outdoors! My favorite treats are from Starbucks!

Meet Harrison Burke, Assistant Orchestra Director:

Hello everyone! I'm Mr. Burke, the assistant orchestra director. I'm a former Cy-Fair ISD Student turned Teacher and graduated from Cy-Fair High School in 2017. I received my Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Sam Houston State University with a 4-year viola scholarship. I've had the opportunity to perform in Kobe, Japan under the SHSU Early Music Ensemble in 2018 and today I love performing viola with other ensembles including the Houston Repertoire Ballet.

I own 2 cats! Jasper is infamously evil and likes to swipe at Mr. Burke. Oliver is the opposite and extremely sweet though he likes to climb on Mr. Burke haha.

In my free time I enjoy a little bit of gaming, learning piano, Star Trek, walking and also spending time with my friends and family!
