Why Study Computer Science?
Improve Problem Solving Skills: This is the #1 goal for our course. Yes we are coding, but it is the thought process behind their program that is key.
Computing is part of everything we do!
Expertise in computing is beneficial even if your primary career is something else.
Computing offers opportunities for creativity and innovation
Future opportunities in computing are without boundaries
Computer Science is a lucrative career, but we recognize it is not for everyone. My oldest daughter is a CS Major and my younger child wants nothing to do with it! I continue to encourage her to take a course for the problem solving skills but I respect the fact that she does not want to study CS in college. If your student is not sure if they will like Computer Science, taking just one course at a time is probably the best idea.
We know your child could take any elective and we want them to feel safe enough to take risks when they sign up for Computer Science. It can be challenging for many students but the skills that they will learn are invaluable.
