COVID-19 ANNOUNCEMENT: Students who finished earning full course credit in an EOC course (ALG I, BIO, ENG I, ENG II, US HIST) during spring or summer 2020 were awarded a COVID exemption for the corresponding EOC test. The EOC testing graduation requirement for said courses for these students is waived.

STAAR EOC Online Testing Announcement: Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, STAAR tests will be administered ONLY as a computer-based test. CFISD students are expected to bring their fully charged CFISD Chromebook to school on a daily basis. Students will use their CFISD Chromebook for EOC testing.

STAAR Timing Change: Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, STAAR tests will be untimed. Any student who needs to do so, may test until the end of the school day.

The State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STAAR) assessment program began in Spring 2012. Students in grades 3-8 participate in grade level STAAR testing each year. (Ex: 8th Grade STAAR) Students enrolled in high school courses participate in STAAR End of Course (EOC) testing towards the end of the course.

Texas Education Code requires students who earn course credit from a public, Texas high school in Algebra I, Biology, English I, English II, and US History to also pass the corresponding EOC test in order to graduate.
