Rachel McCormick is in her 6th year of teaching. This will be her first year at Cook Middle School.
Mrs. McCormick grew up in Kerrville, Texas, and began singing publicly at age 10. She joined choir in 6th grade and fell in love with it immediately. After high school, Mrs. McCormick went to Baylor University, graduating magna cum laude in 2019 with her bachelors degree in Choral Music Education. Before teaching at Cook, Mrs. McCormick taught for five years at Thornton Middle School in CFISD. She is professionally affiliated with TMEA and TCDA.
In her free time, Mrs. McCormick enjoys spending time with her husband and their dog, Adam. She also enjoys reading books with her book club, running, and traveling. She currently serves as secretary for TMEA Region 27 Middle School Vocal division. She has performed with the St. Mary's Schola Cantorum, and has served as vocalist for the CFISD Elementary Honor Choir and Region 27 Honor Choir practice tracks. She also sings with the St. Mark's United Methodist Church choir.
Stephanie Kopesky is in her 4th year of teaching. This will be her second year at Cook Middle School.
Mrs. Kopesky’s choral journey began at Cook Middle School under the direction of Stefanie Stephens, and continued at Jersey Village High School under the direction of Neena Taylor. She furthered her education at the University of Houston (Go Coogs!) and graduated in 2021 with her bachelors degree in Choral Music Education. Before teaching at Cook, Mrs. Kopesky taught at Dean Middle School and Jersey Village High School. This year she will be teaching at Cook Middle School and is so happy to be home! Her professional affiliations include TMEA and ACDA.
Outside of the classroom she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, yoga, and singing with her friends. She currently sings with several choral ensembles in the Houston area including Houston Symphony chorus, Casulana, Suono, and Mercury Chamber Choir.
