Coach Casey Blades has been a part of the Cy Lakes Spartan family since 2009. She grew up in Spring, Texas, and she attended Klein Collins High School. She later graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, where she played soccer for the Pirates. Continuing her education, Coach Blades graduated in 2014 from Texas Tech University earning a Master of Art Education. She recently completed graduate hours in Art History and Visual Culture at Lindenwood University in order to teach Dual Credit Art History. She is the head girls' coach for soccer and also teaches introductory-level sculpture classes. She has traveled throughout the U.S. and to many countries, such as China, Israel, Bolivia, Mexico, Canada, England, Greece, France, Italy, and Switzerland. Her husband was an officer in the US Naval Reserve and a physics/astronomy teacher at Jersey Village High School; they have two daughters, Allison and Amelia, and two dogs, Maggie and Cosimo.
Recently, Coach Blades was named to the United Soccer Coaches 30 Under 30 list. She was also named the 2018 CFISD Secondary Teacher of the Year and the 2018 Distinguished Young Alumna for Southwestern University.
