Bridgeland Testing
Monday, February 14, 2022
Bridgeland High School was chosen by TEA (Texas Education Agency) to participate in the English II EOC Online Field Test. This test will be administered on Monday, February 14 to all 10th graders. The field test is based on the STAAR/EOC redesign that begins next year. This includes moving to an all-online assessment with new item types. While the field test is not scored, this opportunity allows our students to become familiar with the test format before it is officially implemented.
We are required to prepare our school for a standard state test. Testing will begin promptly, so students need to be in their testing rooms by 7:20 am. The field test window is 7:20 am - 10:25 am. Please remind your child to charge their CFISD Chromebook the night before and bring their district Chromebook and charger on the day of the test.
LTE 1:1/District Chromebooks: All state tests, including field tests, must be taken on the CFISD Chromebook issued to all students
Chromebook needs repairs: Access the CFISD Parent Page, scroll down to HappyFox & initiate repair. Include that you are taking the ENG II EOC Field Test on Monday, February 14. Video on process: Creating a Ticket in HappyFox
Still need District Chromebook: Access the CFISD Parent Page , scroll down to SchoolCash & complete form for LTE 1:1 district device.
Per TEA: House Bill 3906 established a “multiple choice cap,” meaning that no more than 75% of points on a STAAR test can be based on multiple choice questions. Texas educators are helping design new question types that reflect classroom test questions and allow students more ways to show their understanding. All possible new question types are being field-tested with students to ensure validity before they are incorporated into the redesigned summative tests beginning in spring 2023.
