All About Me

I'm Mrs. Brandt and I have been in education for 4 years. I obtained my Bachelor's of Science degree at the University of Minnesota, majoring in Natural Resources Management. Upon graduating, I moved to Houston and worked as an interpretive naturalist in the Education Department at the Downtown Aquarium. I began leading the Aquarium's classroom programs, summer camps, and Aquarium Overnights the next year. Two years later, I became a zookeeper at the same facility and got to work using operant conditioning to train the mammal and bird collection animals there. After two years, I decided to return to education. I began working as an Adaptive Behavior (AB) paraprofessional at M. Robinson Elementary in Cy-Fair ISD in 2014-2015 while completing my Alternative Teaching Certification. I completed my internship teaching year at Bear Creek Elementary in Katy ISD as a Resource/In-Class Support Teacher the 2016-2017 school year. I returned to Cy-Fair the next year as a PPCD Pre-K Teacher and I absolutely love it!

I married my husband, Edwin, on December 2017. Our family is completed by our two 16-year old cats, Jinx and Lou Lou.

Soy Mrs. Brandt y llevo 4 años en educación. Obtuve mi título universitario de la Universidad de Minnesota, con enfasis en Recursos Naturales. Después de graduarme, vine a Houston y trabaje en el Acuario con el departamento de educación. Estuve a cargo de los programas para salon de clases, campamentos de verano, y las pijamadas en el acuario. Dos años después, me convertí en entrenador animal en la misma institución. Aprendí a entrenar animales usando condicionamiento operativo (refuerzo positivo) con la colección de mamíferos y aves. Después de dos años en esa compañía regrese a educación. Comencé trabajando como paraprofesional en la primaria M. Robinson en el salon de AB (Adaptive Behavior) en Cypress-Fairbanks ISD el ciclo escolar 2014-2015 mientras completaba mi programa de certificación de maestro. Complete mi anio de internado el Bear Creek Elementary en Katy ISD como maestra de educación especial. Al siguiente año, regrese a Cypress-Fairbanks ISD a trabajar en PPCD y estoy muy feliz de estar en Reed.

Mi familia está compuesta por mi esposo, Edwin, y nuestras dos gatitas de 16 años, Jinx y Lou Lou.
