Canvas is an online learning management system used by PreK - 12th grade at CFBISD. All students will use Canvas for learning modules, class discussions, online assessments, and Webex video conferencing on a daily basis.
Parent observers can view their child's Canvas courses without interrupting the flow of daily course communication.
Creating Your Parent Observer Account
Located on the left side of every page in Canvas, the Global Navigation links provide quick access to frequently used Canvas features.

The Dashboard displays what is happening in all your current courses.
Canvas includes a set of default notification preferences you can receive for courses in which you are enrolled and can participate. These can be updated in settings.
The Inbox displays messages chronologically. View and reply to conversations and sort them by course or inbox type.
View the to-do's for courses by day, week, month, or agenda list in one place.
View all the assignments in your course grouped as overdue, upcoming, undated, and past assignments.
Discussions are interactive communication between two or more people; users can participate in a conversation with an entire class or group.
Pages store content and educational resources that are part of a course but don’t necessarily belong in an assignment.
Participate in web calls with your teacher right inside the Canvas platform.
