I live abroad. Can I apply to jobs from abroad?

Depends. Some available job opportunities are strictly for people residing in Japan while some job opportunities are open to people abroad. Regardless, our team will always let you know when there is a suitable job opportunity available for you.

2. What type of job opportunities are available?

Most of our job opportunities are within the Tech/IT-related fields. We have jobs varying from Engineering positions, to Managerial positions, to Sales positions.

3. Is Japanese proficiency tested?

Most of the job opportunities that we handle require Japanese language skills of least JLPT N3 level that is required for entry. If you have N2 or above, you can secure more job opportunities. In rare cases, there are positions that do not require Japanese proficiency at all. However, these cases/instances aren’t as much as the job opportunities for N3+ level of proficiency.

4. I have JLPT N4. Is it possible to get job opportunities?

Our company considers/introduces available job opportunities to job-seekers who have JLPT N3 and above.

5. I am about to graduate from university. Can I get job opportunities?

All positions introduced to and by CareerFly are for mid-career job-seekers. We do not offer job opportunities exclusively for new graduates.

If you would like to look for some specific opportunity aimed for new graduates, there are multiple sites that could be utilized through a quick and simple google search.

6. Is it possible to work in an environment where only English is used?

There are only a few positions in the workplace that are available where English is the only used work language. Most of the projects held or covered by CareerFly involve work environments that utilize both Japanese and English, or only Japanese.

7. Is it possible to apply to a position for an inexperienced engineer?

Although the opportunities are not that common, we do introduce positions for inexperienced engineers. However, both the following requirements should be met:

Japanese level N2 or higher; and
IT programming knowledge

8. Is it possible to find just remote-work job opportunities?

Yes! The available job opportunities we get are for either remote, in-person, or hybrid work. Our posts on our LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram pages sharing job details will always and explicitly specify if the job is or has the possibility of being remote or hybrid.

9. Why is it hard to get a Cybersecurity job in Japan especially if you're from another country?

When it comes to security, it is essential to understand the regulations and characteristics of the country, which can make it difficult to transfer from another country. Technically, if you are located in Japan, there might be more opportunities for applications.

10. I’m working as junior SAP SD consultant (3+ yrs experience)with N3, pursuing N2 is there is any opportunity?

There are job openings for SAP consultants in Japanese market. For foreign nationals, N1-N2 level Japanese proficiency is often required, and the competition is high.
