The following forms must be included with your artwork when submitting to WACE
- Declaration of authenticity
- Photograph/s
- Visual evidence of work in progress (see note)
- Production validation (source acknowledgements)
- Artist statement (300 words or less)
NOTE: Students must also include nine photographs to support the production submission. Photographs may be from significant and appropriate stages of the production process (e.g. one art journal page, studio process, sensory/experiential stimulus, media experiment)
It is essential that:
- the main development of work takes place in school time
- each student signs a declaration of authenticity, witnessed by teacher and endorsed by the Principal
- all images obtained from the internet must have the url as part of the reference
The rules of ALL resolved artwork submission
· Your name must NOT feature on any artwork or paperwork you are submitting for WACE assessment
· Artworks are to be stickered with your student information on the back left-hand side ONLY.
· DO NOT include your name in, on or below your artist statement upon submission for WACE.
· You must document every primary, secondary and tertiary source along the way that assist you developing your ideas. Keep a record of websites, newspapers etc
· Artworks must not include nudity, inappropriate words, names of people or logos.
· Artworks CANT exceed the recommended height and weight limit set by the WACE board. ie 2.5m x 2.5m for any 2D painting.
· Artworks CANT be sharp or potentially dangerous.
· The artworks and artist statement must NOT identify you or the school (logo, uniform)
· Artworks CANT be framed for submission. If on canvas paper or similar work is to be sent with cardboard frame or folder.
· Artist statements must be sent off with supporting documentation and must not exceed 300 words.
· You MUST produce both artworks within the same category;
ie 2D, 3D, 2D-3D OR VIDEO
· You MUST complete all given documentation for WACE including;
1. A grid of 9 images per artwork showing the developmental process
2. A declaration of authenticity to ensure the work is 100% yours
3. A completed list of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary sources of inspiration
4. Artist Statement –300 words or less –NOT TO HAVE YOUR NAME OR IDENTIFY THE SCHOOL
5. An image of the final artwork and how you would like it displayed for marking.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH RULES WILL RESULT IN MARKS DEDUCTED BY WACE BOARD
