Purpose of a Report Card

CESD report cards are intended to be a snapshot of learning at a certain moment of time... "rather than offering a cumulative, final evaluation, the report cards should be seen as part of a continuous and ongoing reporting process..." to parents / guardians (On Your Mark, Guskey, 2015). The areas communicated in a report card are:

  • Achievement of learner outcomes

  • Learner Attributes (behaviour, work habits, social skills)

  • Areas of strength, area for improvement and future goals

  • Ways for parents to help and support students in areas need improvement
