Hello! My name is Marsha Kaslon. I this is my third year at Centura and my 7th year of teaching Science. I have had my teaching certificate since 2008 and I have endorsements in Science and History. I attended Univeristy of Nebraska at Kearney, Bellevue University and Chadron State College. I graduated from Doniphan High School in 1995.
I live on a farm near Ashton, with my husband John. We have six children. Claire (graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan), James (graduate of Doane), Johnny (graduate of SEC, Beatrice), Jack (graduate of Hastings CCC), Josef (attending UNL) and Joel, (Junior, St. Paul) and several mini-Aussies.
I enjoy all things science and history, and love combining both in my reading, learning and in the classroom. I enjoy reading, buying books before I read the ones I have, and traveling to new places. I love exploring outside and discovering new to me beautiful places.
I love watching football in the fall (college), red tractors, the Huskers, and drinking coffee to start my day.
This summer I attended a Nebraska Game and Parks Wetland Field School. This school gave us hands on access and learning about how beneficial wetlands are to our local communities, our counties, state, and the world. We completed water testing, macro invertebrae exploration, nature journaling, and explored the Nebraska Sandhills. I am excited to bring back to Centura what I experienced and to take my students out of the classroom so they can live the adventure too!
