About me

My interests lie at the intersection of many fields— geology, biology, paleontology, microbiology, geochemistry. I had a fantastic undergraduate experience at WKU studying volcanoes and meteorites. At the University of Kansas, I studied paleoarachnology (fossil spiders) and taphonomy (how things become fossils). I also did a lot of work on modern spiders!

Teaching, learning, faculty development, and undergraduate research are also major interests of mine. At Centre College, I help implement faculty development programs to enhance teaching effectiveness and support assessment processes across the college. Previously, at the University of Kansas, I was the Assistant Director of the Center for Undergraduate Research where I supported faculty and staff in their roles as research mentors, helped instructors incorporate research into their courses, and supported students across all disciplines in their undergraduate research projects.

I also participated in the Kentucky Governor’s Scholar Program at Centre College, and later was the Recycling Coordinator at Southcentral Kentucky Community & Technical College.
