8th Grade Science will cover aspects in the following three science disciplines: Earth and Space, Biology, and Physical. The Earth Science units will cover aspects of the Earth's controlling processes including the following: development of land formations, rock cycle, characteristics of ecosystems, and weather. Biological sciences will focus on the study of the characteristics of life and the kingdoms of life. Mendelian Genetics will be expanded upon from last year and this will transition into the study of adaptations and animal behaviors. Ecology will be introduced as students focus on the interdependence among the various biotic and abiotic factors within the environment. Physical Science units will cover matter, energy, force, and motion.
