Science 6 is a course designed to assist students in becoming lifelong learners who grow in their understanding of the world around them and provides an overview of fundamental scientific principles. The curriculum is vigorous in scope and addresses the Pennsylvania state science standards. Students will be challenged to ask questions and explain observations. They will share results with each other in order to develop theories and refine them through experiment. As we begin with the nature of science, students will understand that scientific explanations are based on logical thinking, are consistent with observational, inferential, and experimental evidence, and can be refined/changed with additional evidence. Students will realize that even though science can explain nature it cannot be used to answer all questions.
