In our second grade class, students will learn concepts in reading, phonics, grammar and spelling. We will cover addition, subtraction, and problem solving strategies as well as money, time, measurement, geometry, data, and introductory multiplication in math. We will learn about world cultures and American history. Several instructional strategies will be used, including whole group, small group, and paired instruction.

Accelerated Reader
Students are leveled at the beginning and halfway through the year to find at which AR book level they should be comfortably reading and understanding independently. Students should read within this level and take AR tests on their books read often! They are welcome to read books you have at home along with the books read here at school for AR tests.
