Fashion Design and Textiles

This course offers an introduction to the creative world of design through applying the principles of art and design.  Discover the inner workings of the fashion industry and how our clothes are made, from fibers to wearable designs. Learn about the how and why of clothing, the fashion cycle, and fashion throughout modern history, and contemporary issues in the industry.  Discover your creativity in this hands-on course focused on fashion design, merchandising, textiles, arts, and other crafts.  Along the way, students will learn to interpret technical directions, read diagrams, and solve challenges.  By combining creativity with practical skills, this course prepares students not only for success in design-related fields but also for a variety of future careers that value innovation, organization, and perseverance.
