This class will work with probability, data collection, descriptive and inferential statistics, probability, and technological tools to analyze statistics as it pertains to the real world. Statistical projects could include working with the stock market, seeing how statistics help companies know what goods to keep on shelves, and using quality control to help develop the best product. Probability projects could include working to see how casinos provide the odds for each table game, how coaches prepare for other teams, and how the weather is predicted. The main focus of the course will be exploring data, planning a study, producing models using probability theory, and making statistical inferences.
