Principles of Engineering

Course Description

Principles of Engineering is an entry level course intended to give students an introduction to basic engineering and technology concepts. This is an introductory course for all students interested in STEM related fields. The four major systems of technology will be covered: Communications, Manufacturing, Construction, and Transportation. In addition, students will learn about technical drawing, the applications of various materials, producing products, designing systems, and the safe use of tools. Students will apply their abilities through hands-on problem solving experiences. They will create engineering drawings by hand and using computer software, collaborate on a bridge project, a board game, and mousetrap car; in order to demonstrate concepts from class.
